Today we washed and treated both the house and garage roofs. The house roof had a heavy amount of lichen growth, and the treatment process is already working.

After treatment, lichen will often turn white or light in color. This means the lichen has been killed. However, the root system must naturally rot and release from the shingles, which takes time — typically around 30–45 days.

With each hard rain, more of the dead lichen will continue to wash away, and the roof will keep improving over time.
